Fall Stacked Toasts

Description: Here is a tasty fall-inspired topped toast made with apple butter, figs, cured meat, and pumpkin seeds that is sure to fill you up and satisfy your itch for something sweet and savory!
Yield: Recipe makes 2-4 servings
Ingredients:
4 slices thin sliced sourdough bread
2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1 tablespoon Apple butter
2 slices of Prosciutto, torn in halved
2 figs, cut into thin slices
2 slices smoked gouda, cut in half
1 teaspoon dried parsley
cayenne pepper, for dusting
smoked paprika, for dusting
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Butter one side of each piece of bread and sprinkle with parsley.
Add bread slices to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 7-8 minutes or until bread browns and gets slightly crispy.
Remove toasted bread from oven. Smear a bit of apple butter onto the toasted bread.
Add ½ slice of smoked gouda, then add the prosciutto.
Sprinkle on the pumpkin seeds in the middle, and add the fig slices on both sides of the pumpkin seeds.
Bake again for 5-7 minutes to warm through and melt the cheese.
Dust the tops of each piece with a pinch of Cayenne Pepper and some Smoked Paprika. Serve and enjoy!
