Description: Ready for a unique twist on barbequed ribs? Check out these amped up mustard-based barbeque ribs! The sauce on these ribs includes a few common Indian spices and smoked red jalapeno powder for a new take on classic Carolina mustard BBQ ribs!

Yield: Serves 3-4 people

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ pounds baby back pork ribs

  • 1 1/2 cups Amped Mustard-based BBQ Sauce

  • 1 teaspoons fine sea salt

  • 2 teaspoon cracked black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons Avocado Oil

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Peel off tough membrane that covers the underside/bony side of the ribs. Place on a baking sheet or baking tray lined with foil (or parchment paper). Make sure the tray has raised walls on all sides so no drippings leak into your oven.

Drizzle the oil over all sides of the ribs, then season all sides of the ribs using only salt and pepper. Rub the seasoning all over the ribs on both sides. Cover tray with foil and bake on the middle oven rack for 1 1/2 hours.

Remove from oven, brush with BBQ sauce on both sides and return to the middle oven rack to bake for another 30 minutes.

Brush a bit more sauce on the top of the ribs, then continue baking at 350°F for an additional 10 minutes.

Move the ribs onto the lower oven rack. Increase the oven settings to broil for the last 5 minutes of cooking time to lightly char and caramelize the sauce on the top of the ribs. Monitor this step closely to ensure you don't burn the sauce.

Remove from the oven. Cover lightly with foil and allow to rest for 10 minutes to allow the juices to recirculate back into the meat before slicing. Slice and serve. Enjoy!
