Description: This jazzed-up ginger, jasmine and mint tea is one of my all-time favorite tea combinations to warm me up thoroughly during the cold season!

Yield: Recipe makes 1 serving

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups water

  • One bag Jasmine Green Tea (I prefer Numi Jasmine Green Tea)

  • One bag Peppermint Tea (I prefer Traditional Medicinal Peppermint tea)

  • One thumb sized nugget of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • ¼ tsp hot pepper flake, optional

  • mint leaves, ginger slices, for garnish

Directions:

Add the water and ginger to a small stock pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce temperature to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

While the water is simmering, prep a 16-18 ounce mug or thermos with your teas and hot pepper flake and set aside.

Once the ginger has steeped for at least 15 minutes, pour the ginger liquid into your waiting mug and brew the tea according to the package instructions.

Remove tea bags and mix in the lemon juice and honey. Garnish with any desired garnishes.

Allow to cool for a few minutes to let the hot tea come to a comfortable sipping temperature. Enjoy!
