Cranberry Syrup

Description: This quick cranberry syrup will be the perfect tart and sweet addition to your fall drinks and cocktails! Try it out and see!
Yield: Recipe make 12 ounces of syrup
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 cups fresh cranberries, roughly chopped
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Instructions:
Combine water, sugar, and cranberries in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
When it begins to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently.
Simmer until the cranberries have completely softened, 20 to 25 minutes.
Strain mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a medium size measuring cup, pressing on cranberries to extract their liquid.
Transfer mixture to a mason jar (or other airtight container) and let cool on the counter until completely cool.
Refrigerate cooled syrup until ready to use.
Notes:
Syrup can be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
