Description: When the cold weather sets in, reaching for this amped up version of a classic Hot Toddy will really warm up those chilled bones!

Yield: Recipe makes 1 mixed drink

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Noble Oak Rye Whiskey (or preferred whiskey or bourbon)

  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoon raw honey

  • 2 thumb sized nuggets of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced

  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flake

Directions:

Bring the ginger, cinnamon stick, and cloves to a rolling boil in 3 cups of water on medium high heat, then reduce heat to low, cover, and steep on low for 20 minutes.

While the spices are steeping, prep your 18-20 ounce serving mug with the hot pepper flake, honey, whiskey, lemon juice, and ACV.

After 20 minutes, pour the steeping liquid through a fine mesh strainer directly into the waiting heat-proof mug, preferably with a lid.

Stir to combine and let it sit with the lid off for another 5 minutes or so to cool to a drinkable temperature before sipping.

Once cool enough to sip comfortably, secure the lid onto the mug! Enjoy!
